Pre And iPhone

For the last month or so there is a small battle going on between Palm Pre and the famous Apple iPhone.
People in both forums (Pre & iPhone) are arguing who has the best smart phone. Excuse me people but what are you comparing here exactly? iPhone is out for 2+ yrs while the Pre is just over 1 month, iPhone version 3.0 and Pre 1.1, this is not logical to compare these 2 phones, makes no sense. I don’t see iPhone followers competing against RIM(BlackBerry) well maybe they tried with the BlackBerry Storm that was a short lived battle, Strom was all a over blown hype. iPhone “vs.” Android G1 another waste of time, G1 crumbled and maybe Android “Hero” will have a fighting chance against iPhone but I doubt it, for some reason G1 phones didn’t make a huge splash like ever one thought they do , why I honestly don’t know, but that’s another topic for another day. And now you got Palm Pre comes along and people see this little smart phone as a better competitor it the iPhone, this I don’t know yet cause Pre is on version 1.1 give it some time. This reminds me of a little story; my friend had a T-Mobile BlackBerry which I got him hooked on and he would rave how this is the best thing that ever happened to him, and now he jumped ship after I got my Pre. He got himself a unlocked iPhone, so when I saw him the first thing he said to me is not look at what my iPhone can do but check all my great APPS and I said ok that’s great but can your phone do this or that? He was like duh?? No he said it can’t, I said case closed, his comeback was I have all these great APPS, I said enjoy them. I told he doesn’t even have a GChat app, he has to sign in to GChat threw the web but he can’t chat to me and do other things, he like oh crap. The question is do we get phones for their APPS or there functions?
What’s your opinion??

Smart Phone and US

Smart Phone and US

I myself started out having the Treo 650 back in the day, when Palm was the only touch screen phone. I jumped the Palm ship do to the none stop rebooting issues with it, so I moved to BlackBerry 8703e, then upgraded to BlackBerry Curve 8330, used for about a year and I loved it and got all my friends hooked on it, then the Palm Pre comes out and I got and now I kind of confused about it, I still love my Curve (8330) and a new one is coming out 9630 model, so now I confused even more. I always said that if Palm would be more aggressive about the OS they ran on Treo's 650 and updated the OS they would corner the market, but they fell asleep. I really love the Palm Pre but I do miss my BB messenger and its great calendar, ease of use that comes with RIM, the only thing about RIM is that they keep coming out with new models faster cpu's but the OS really doesn’t change, kind frustrating but that’s a whole entire other topic for another day and another story.

Ok enough about Palm, let’s get down to the real question, do smart phones control our lives?

We cannot live without our smart phones, our entire lives are involved in these little toys called “Smart Phones” I remember when there were few times that I had to be without my smart phone and for the life of me I couldn’t remember the simplest phone numbers of my friends or even my wife’s work, and forget about when my wife’s BlackBerry crashed and had to order her a new one, she totally freaked out and said what am I going to do without my BlackBerry. Does your life evolve around your iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm, etc…?
